2022 EXHIBITION ARCHIVE

Glass Recollections

Nancy Wu and Jean Davis of Resurrect Studio

Friday, December 16th - Sunday, January 15th,

Opening Reception December 16th 6-8 PM

The art of Nancy Wu and Jean Davis is rooted in an extraordinary friendship. The two Brooklyn-based artists’ daughters became besties in 2013. In 2016, tragedy struck; Nancy lost her daughter to God’s Will. Their friendship ignited, and the ensuing journey resulted in the formation  of Resurrect Studio in 2020, a place of magnificent healing where the negotiation of pain and acceptance is met with the constant thirst for Spirit.

Nancy is an architectural designer with a background in liberal arts. Jean is a visual artist and art therapist with a lifelong connection to the restorative power of art. Both have experience in oil painting and watercolors. Using glass cast offs from a century-old Brooklyn landfill, they parlayed their skills into a new form of making – 3D Watercolors. The resulting dreamscapes are transformative.

"Van Der Plas Gallery is excited to work again with artists from the Living Museum. In my four decades exhibiting artists in NY, I rarely encountered such an amazing body of work. What defines this collection best, is not only the high quality of craftsmanship but its authenticity–so missing from much of the output from even our most acclaimed art institutions. We, at Van Der Plas Gallery, have been lucky to be cooperating for the last 20 years with this vibrant community of

artists with the most beautiful minds." -
