Van Der Plas Gallery is offering a one-week showing opportunity for all artists, academically trained or outsider, looking to gain gallery exposure and a chance to establish an ongoing relationship with the gallery.
An open call is being issued to artists to show from Monday, June 19, 2017 through Sunday, June 25, 2017. With an opening reception scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, 6 – 8 p.m.
Artists wishing to take part in this exhibition should contact the gallery owner directly by email with a submission including:
- High quality electronic images of proposed work
- Dimensions of the artwork
- Pricing for the artwork
- Artist Statement
There will be no fee for submission of work, but in order to cover a portion of expenses, artists are asked to contribute an administration fee determined by the number and size of works shown. The administration fees are as follows:
3 paintings/drawings/prints, each 14” x 11” or less, $140
2 paintings/drawings/prints, each up to 20” x 16”, $140
1 painting/drawing/print, up to 40” x 32”, $140
1 painting/drawing/print, up to “60 x “48 $200
Larger works will be considered and will necessitate a higher fee.
Sales of work will be a standard split of half to the artist, half to the gallery. The administration fee will serve as a credit in the event of sales. In the above examples, with an administration fee of $140, the artist would receive all proceeds from the first $280 of works sold.
All art, which is accepted for the exhibit, should be delivered to the gallery, framed and ready to hang, by Wednesday June 14th, 2017.
