Diane Sbano is an artist and resident of New York City. Living and working in this unique metropolis offers Diane a limited opportunity to encounter nature and animal life amidst pave paths of this concrete forest. The absence of domesticated and wild fauna of the animal kingdom, along with her fantasy of owning and caring for a multitude of pets have stimulated Sbano to design and create her own zoological paradise.
Her collection of animals represent art that is fun and playful. The paintings, paper mache sculpture and mixed media dioramas reflect a more simple and primitive atitutde of expression Color are bright and vibrant, shapes and designs are illusions of nature. Her characterizations reveal her regard for the life and personality of each creature.
